Each winter, just after our new scouts cross-over from cub scouts, we go to Beaver Brook in Hollis New Hampshire. This is typically a rather relaxing camping trip.
The boys will sleep in cabins with warm, wood-burning stoves.
The parents purchase the food, plan the meals and typically cook the food.
The older boys will teach the younger scouts about knife/hatchet safety (Totin Chip) and Fire Safety (Fire man Chit)
Most importantly, the boys have plenty of time to have fun in what always is a winter wonderland!
